Goodbye Shanghai Hello Nanchang

Yesterday we packed our bags and walked the streets of Shanghai for the last time.

We walked to the river in daylight this time and were amazed again at all the skyscrapers in this city.

Everyone was busy taking pictures of this important landmark.  It was the first building on the other side of the river and is the tallest to date!

We then decided to head to the Bund.  The Bund is a street in Shanghai know for its shopping. There are many high end stores that go for blocks.  The big attraction that people were swarming was the Apple store.

The amount of people in one small area is just crazy! Notice the KFC in the upper right!

But just one street over from these high end stores are the "real" streets of Shanghai.  These are the streets Eric and I love to walk down and take everything in.

There are people on every corner making or selling something.  I don't think we will ever be brave enough to try the street food!

There are little shops along the streets full of anything you can think of.

One functions as the local meet market!

You will always see groups of people visiting over a bowl of noodles.

As we walked  back to the hotel Eric and I talked about the amazing experiences we were blessed with in Shanghai.  We loved taking in more of the Chinese culture and gaining a better understanding of the heritage of two of our little blessings. Our hearts have been changed with spending time with people like Miki.

The next part of our journey is where the real fun begins.  The journey we traveled across the ocean to make. The journey to bring our little Ellie home. Our drive to the airport was quiet as reality of what is to come set in.  The butterflies started in my stomach and tears in my eyes in anticipation of what is to come.

Our next stop ... Nanchang, China!

As I saw the airplane that we would be boarding I thought "hold on we are on a journey of a lifetime!"

I sat on the plane with tears in my eyes as I looked out my window and over the wing of the airplane, the very wing that would carry us to our daughter.  We are getting so close.
