Her Name

In the whirlwind of paperwork and life we had discussed names for our little girl but we wanted to wait to see what her Chinese name was before we settled on anything.  I felt like the first couple days were a complete whirlwind after we got her referral and I kept telling Eric we needed to name our little girl.  We originally loved the name Ali but didn't like it with her middle name An Na.  I was restless about a name and kept telling Eric our daughter needed a name.  Eric kept reminding me we didn't have to put it in writing now so relax and give it time.  As I was talking with one of my good friends in my unsettledness about not having a name the name Ellie came up.  When I put Ellie An Na together and shared it with Eric we both loved it! We knew it was perfect.

I call her Ellie and Eric calls her Ellieanna.  We will see what sticks.

Ellieanna is of Hebrew origin and means "God has Answered"

"For this child I prayed and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him."
1 Samuel 1:27

Indeed, we did pray for our daughter.  The Lord did hear us, and He did answer and give us or hearts' desire. We are forever grateful.

Julie, I have tears in my eyes as I read this...we haven't seen our sweet Ellie's face yet...but this story is almost the same as our own! I will be watching and waiting expectantly with you! Praying your little one home!
